SURIUN System
created for demonstrable sustainability
The SURIUN System was created as a national mechanism for independent and impartial confirmation of sustainable production and traceable circular resource flows.
How the SURIUN System was created
The System was established under the Programme for the creation and implementation of a certification system for sustainable polymers based on a material and raw-material balance of recycled or renewable raw material in finished polymer composition or melt.
The decision to create SURIUN was recorded on 2 May 2024 with the participation of major industry, certification and standardization organizations.
Registered voluntary certification system
The SURIUN System is registered in the Rosstandart Register of Registered Voluntary Certification Systems under No. ROSS RU.And3108.04BRSH00.
The System is designed as a Russian national analogue of international sustainable-development certification practices such as ISCC PLUS.
Independent confirmation of sustainability
The objective is to provide an independent and impartial mechanism for confirming that waste has been recycled and returned to production after appropriate preparation and that the relevant characteristics can be traced across the supply chain.
From a linear model to a circular economy
The SURIUN approach supports the transition from extraction–production–use–disposal to a model in which recycled and renewable raw material is returned to economic circulation and used again.
